The GREAT MAESTRO
THE GREAT MAESTRO
The sound is electrifying. The air is charged with brilliancy of a large group of performers referred to as a symphony orchestra. Each person has their own instruments with much practice and refining of their marvelous gifts. These musicians are sure to perform in an excellent style. Symphony orchestras are breathtaking. When the beautiful sound of the music of symphonies or operas surround the audience, they are taken to new heights. It’s temporary but quite memorable. The magnificent art behind a symphony orchestra is the collaboration of one work. Many musicians and instruments but in unison. The musicians have been trained to expertise and refined to demonstrate their talents and gifts to an awaiting audience with propriety and nobility.
Orchestra symphonies are mostly embraced by an audience who delights in sounds and movements. A beautiful symphony can move you to a different place, spiritually. Music has that type of effect and power, whether it’s a symphony or any other type of music. It is the sound that takes us to another place. As Christians, we want the sound of beautiful music to take us straight into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. A symphony orchestra releases harmony and this is what captivates an audience. It’s all so wonderful!
Symphony orchestras, without a composer, would simply fall short. A maestro brings all of these talents together and composes a magnificent work called a symphony. Maestros are prominent composers, precise and often times ultra in their demonstrations. Maestros have the power to captivate an audience. How is it that one person can compose many performers to wave a beautiful sound of harmony? It is beyond comprehension. All of the performers of the orchestra watch the maestro and are able to take their gifts and follow their lead. Marvelous!
It is the same with the body of Christ. We, too, have many marvelous gifts. We too have been trained and refined by the Holy Spirit on how to perform for our audience. The Christian audience would be the world and the brethren. We are being watched by other brethren (other Christians) and of course, the world. If we are mindful of the marvelous gifts and talents that God has equipped us with, then, we too, would have an awaiting audience with greatanticipation of being entertained. There are many of you who have beautiful gifts singing, dancing (praise or theater dancing), acting (Christian plays or theater), screen writing, pastors, evangelists, teachers and other numerous church ministries. These gifts and callings are not to be ignored or tucked away. They are to be a blessing for God’s people. It is time for every Christian to take out your violins, cellos, flutes, clarinets and other instruments and perform once again.
You say, I have performed, there was no audience. I have performed, there was no electric in the air. I have performed, there was no applause and frankly I give up. Never give up beloved. God is about to do a new thing in the earth. By God’s spirit, he is going to begin to bring the body of Christ together as one. There are thousands of Christians with many gifts and callings. You performed before to get recognition and status. Now God is about to do something that he has never done before on the Earth. We will no longer perform in elite settings or familiarity. God is about to do a marvelous work in the body of Christ. The world is not going to notice you or your gifts or callings, but the world will start to notice of the entire body of Christ and they will see us as one, not individuals, but as a beautiful symphony orchestra.
You have performed, for others, on a small scale. Now you are in the big league, with a symphony orchestra, the entire body of Christ. We, the body of Christ have a marvelous composer and we must keep our eyes on him and not on our gifts or calls. Our composer is no other than the blessed Jesus Christ. Jesus is our composer. Jesus is our teacher. Jesus is our conductor. Jesus is the great maestro! Amen.
“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit” (I Cor. 12: 12-13).
“For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another” (Rom 12: 4-5).
