KEEP IT SIMPLE
Simplicity has always been the secret to a blessed and prosperous life. Simplicity is valuable only because it’s worth much yet it cost nothing. Simplicity is as a choice and a way of seeing your life and others through a pair of spectacular eye lens without the decorative frame. When one slides on their eye lens without the decorative frame, it will only reveal to you what you see. However, the frames on the eye lens can be a distraction once placed with the lens, oftentimes causing your eye lens to have a style or not. Simplicity is a narrow scope of perception to most humans. Simplicity has to be demonstrated in the fashion it was intended, with humility.
Most of God’s people prefer a little more than simplicity in their lives. Simplicity can be in style, homes, cars, and luxuries. All these things are fine but simplicity lies at the root of all things. Yes, beloved, simplicity is at every root of our everyday choices. You have the choice the choose simplicity in your ideologies to choosing your interior design in your homes. It’s truly your decision. Simplicity is the quality or, condition or being easy to understand; the quality or condition of being plain or natural. The meaning of this marvelous word to some seems very dull. You say, “where is the enjoyment in simplicity?” Simplicity to many demonstrates lackluster in its highest form. Simplicity at glance does seem to be all of these things but the continuity that lies below the root of this word is spectacular. You can be sure to rely on consistency without a struggle to impress anyone forever! Simplicity has a personality of its own. It is assertive, confident, dependable, and everlasting. Simplicity will never let you down. Always remember simplicity is a choice.
Preadventure you are on your way to work and you are running a little late. You have a choice to take the elevator which is quick and modern but could break down and then there are the stairs: a little slower, obsolete for certain. You have a choice to take what is quicker, the elevator, or to take the stairs, which is slower but more simple and for sure. Our heavenly Father wants all of His children to live a life of simplicity. God is not telling you to always take the stairs in life, but incorporate taking the stairs in your life at times on a wide spectrum.
The adversary wants to deceive God’s children about simplicity. The adversary wants you to believe that everything should be grandiose at all times and simplicity is out. The adversary wants you to always take the grandiose road and lavishness and he tries to allure you in this type of lifestyle at all times. Big houses, big bank accounts, big vacations, all these things are very nice, but there should always be a place during your holiday or vacations where you can enjoy the quiet simple life. There should always be a place in your everyday living where there is peace and simplicity without chaos. There should be a place where you can go for solace and peace, as in the countryside, or a peaceful lake, taking the time to smell the roses and the honeysuckle; and listening to the chirping birds that are begging for your attention with their beautiful, fluttering wings as they fly past you over and over. Steak dinners are wonderful, but once in a while try having a simple chili hotdog. It is just as marvelous.
I recently had a visit from a dear friend to my home. We were on my patio and we shared a pitcher of ice-cold lemonade flavored with sparkling apple cider. It was a hot day and we were both a little parched. It was perfect, nothing fancy, but simple and delicious. Simplicity keeps you safe from a very materialistic world. Jesus Christ made His entrance to Jeruselum riding on a donkey. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords made His entrance into the world riding on a primitive animal as of a donkey, not a horse, but a donkey. Jesus Christ demonstrated simplicity in the greatest way for all men to walk in humility and simplicity. We can do the same. Our lives will be less chaotic and peaceful with simplicity. Our heavenly Father, God in heaven, wants you to be content with what He has given you and not to be worrying or lusting for more. God gives all His children their blessings (material substances) in seasons so you won’t be enticed with the spirit of greed. God wants the very best for all of His people.
Beloved, take a moment to reflect on your life. Stop right now. Take a deep breath and now exhale and let the Spirit of God show you how to keep it simple. Amen.
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” (II CORINTHIANS 11:3).
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content” (I TIMOTHY 6:8).
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass” (ZECHARIAH 9:9).
